News wise locally and internationally, 2010 was a year full of drama.
Keeping up with the news was sometimes depressing and disheartening. Too many misfortunes and tragic happenings happening all around us. Too few happy stories that they were easily overshadowed by the back-to-back coverage of news that brought on frowns and sighs of despair.
But in one way or another, there is a silver lining – it made us do a little prayer to the unfortunate souls and that they may now be in a better and happier place and those left behind will find the strength to move on.
And those whose lives now linger in a limbo for mistakes they made – in particular this case of a foreign woman caught in a drug haul in a northeastern state of Malaysia who instead of needing only an opiate detox could instead be heading for the gallow – they could slowly be at peace with whatever comes their way.
Here’s hoping that 2011 will bring more good news to read, to hear, to witness and to experience.
