When we decided to transit through Keningau town on our way to Kota Kinabalu last month, we enjoyed seeing the changes this small town is going through – especially for me who have lived in Keningau on and off throughout my life.
New shop blocks, eateries, hotels – all good business opportunities for a friend who must be busy giving insurance quotes to property owners and the such.
But it was this rundown wooden blocks which never fails to attract my attention.
Since Keningau was one of the key administration centre for the British in the early 1900s, they can easily be more than 100 years old. What quaint sight they make being in the midst of all the concrete buildings.
If only these walls can speak, imagine the fascinating stories they will tell us.
