Away From The Haze Season

My last post on holidays must seemed strange considering school holiday is only in September, not to mention the flu issue.
But with the thick haze that we have been experiencing since a few days ago, you’d know why I am thinking of a holiday away from here.
Not Malaysia or Singapore though as it’s equally bad there - haze wise and flu wise. No to Indonesia either, after the recent incident. Philippines? After Jakarta, I could do with a place less crowded. Thailand? We didn’t quite fancy Bangkok and I am not a seaside fan. We have been to Hong Kong and although I can match Hong Kong folks walking pace, the crowd annoys me.
So maybe we should consider Macau, the gambling haven of Asia.
Why spend on costly Vegas vacations when gambling fans can enjoy world-class casino just a couple of hours flight from Kota Kinabalu?
Macau is definitely a very interesting prospect. Flying there is affordable with cheap flights from Brunei - Kota Kinabalu - Macau. It’s not as crowded as China and Hong Kong. And hotel rates seemed to have dropped - at least according to usual my booking agent.
Now if only, as a friend said to me, “we are single with no commitment”, my bags would already be packed and ready to go.
But here we are, enduring another haze season and unbelievable heat. But at least, electricity is not expensive. So unless we leave the house, we can delude ourselves that weather-wise, it’s not that bad.
