Christmas Away

The good thing about spending Christmas away from Kota Kinabalu is – we avoided the traffic jam which I am told is getting worse.

I do miss meeting my friends and having our usual end of year gatherings – but I am glad that I did not have to struggle with the rest of KK city folks over Christmas or New Year shopping. Stuck in crawling jam, fighting over non-existent parking spots and endless queues at the cashier.

And I think my Sabah family who came over, enjoyed not having to deal with the festive jams that should still plagued Kota Kinabalu even now.

Some of them went home to Sabah today with tummies stuffed full with the good food of Bandar Seri Begawan and their non-Samsonite luggage packed to the max with goodies and Christmas presents.

Even though the Christmas tree is still up, the house is a little quieter – and we look forward to their next trip over.
