Italian Lunch

The lunch plan was for chicken rice in Kuala Belait – until my eldest daughter spotted pictures of pasta from a menu posted on glass panel walls at the latest restaurant in this town.

We were actually hesitant that we – with our brood of 3 very loud and you cannot-miss kind of kids – would be welcomed in this fine dining like restaurant. But we were lured by the fact that there was only one table occupied then (which was not the case soon after).

Luckily the daughter who dragged us into this restaurant approved her Fettucine Carbonara. My youngest daughter was keen on the salmon “butterfly” pasta (it’s actually bow tie pasta). We liked the pizza and of course, I ordered a plate of bruschetta and really enjoyed it.

My middle child however enjoyed none of the food and only ate because she had to. It is hard to raise a picky eater but I am glad that this is her only concern and we do not have to worry about finding out about things like getting help from the social security disability insurance.

And at least we know that Italian food is not her kind of taste.
