Some days my heart pounded like a slegdehammer and my breathing so fast I could burst any spirometers, after an hour or so of my usual routine – much like running uphill.
Returning home on days when we are out early could already raise my heart rate, being reminded of the long list of chores waiting.
It is so easy to just give up and get a maid – an affordable luxury for most of us in Brunei.
It would be nice to have plenty of time to indulge in feminine pleasure. Manicured nails that won’t chip within hours from too much water contact. Going out without stressing about nap time, toilet breaks, hunger pangs of kids who attract attentions when they are bored – because they can stay home! Having enviable wardrobe because I have the time, energy and mood to actually shop – since there are no cranky tag-alongs.
So my nails are plain and I could count the number of times I visit boutiques in a year with one hand.
But my children need to hug and kiss only me (and their father) - and that suits me fine because I am one selfish parent when it comes to affection.
