Walking past a certain DVD shop in town that plays music loud enough to entertain the loitering youngsters and make the older folks wonder if there was an (illegal) pub nearby, I realized that though there are times when I wish we have such entertainment spots in Brunei, I am also cool that we have none.
With the size of our community, it is easy to bump into people you know.
And being caught with a margharita in hand and wisps of smoke from one side of your lips by say, doctors who’d seen you earlier on their manual exam tables and whom you’d rather project a sober and repentant image, is possible and not a welcome scenario.
Besides, the scene for supposedly the most happening dance party in the whole region is just 2 hours flight away for those who crave such activities.
But why envy those headache or gutache-inducing activities when we can have guiltless and peaceful pleasures with no hang-overs or evidence that will make you cringe in 5 years time by simply enjoying what walk past our doorways most of the time.
