We try to have at least one purely vegetarian meal in a week – for better health reason.
Luckily two of my children are fond of vegetables. Sometimes despite our coaxing for them to take more meat, they would insist that we serve them “Some more spinach please!”.
Actually, there are times we felt guilty when we serve them what we know is delicious (but unhealthy) – and one daughter who used to enjoy these would refused because those food are “too fatty”!
Hopefully this correct idea about healthy diet will encourage at least one of them to go into medical – and we are on track to finance any medical assisting school for them in the future!
In a way, their eating preferences makes it easier for us have healthier diet.
But it is Sunday and that means that we need to wake up early to buy freshly madeĀ Lao Shu Fen to be cooked with some minced meat for our morning breakfast!
Jewel, Your kids are right in wanting vegetarian food. Actually we all should go vegetarian since the green is the first species on planet earth that could convert the energy from the sun for all species to use to survived on this planet. Without the sun energy there would be no lives on this planet. All nutrition are found in the green and one could have a healthy life without going to meat.
We eat and drink because we need energy and the energy come from our food and the first source of energy is from the plants and not the animals, Animals had to eat plants in order to get the energy from the sun and if we eat animal we get a second hand energy. So actually it would be wise to eat plants and get all the energy, it is after all the first source of the sun energy.
Have a nice day.
Hi Pak! Thank you for the explanation. You are so right and we are trying to incorporate more vegetarian meals in our lives, not easy actually being so used to having meat – at least for myself. But we know the benefits of eating only greens and as for my kids, we are lucky then they need not be forced to eat their veges like most kids do!
