There was one time when I told the kids that they may now go outside and play.
My husband rolled his eyes and told me that they have been in and out of the house to play the whole afternoon as “They don’t need to be told”.
Yes, they do not need to be told to go play outside because they consider our compound as an extension of their play area. If I don’t threatened them with “blood boiling in their brains”, they will be cycling even in the height of noon and if I don’t remind them that “there will be no ice-cream if they get sick”, do you think they mind the rain?
If we have one of those kids picnic tables, I am sure that we will not see them during meal time.
Being an outdoor person myself, I do not them running wild outside, burning their excess energy. But I am sure there are fellows mothers in my neighbourhood who shook their heads when they see just how much my girls spend their time under the sun.
