With the right conditions – kids’ friendly stores and time of day – shopping with 3 kids between the age or 1-6 years old by myself is also not as hard as it may sound.
It can be a little troublesome at times (demand for toilet in the middle of the store) but it’s not as nerve-wrecking as it is to some.
And whenever I feel tempted to feel sorry for myself, I am reminded of other mothers – some who need to take buses or take long walks to go places with shopping bags and a child on one arm. Or mothers with tantrum-prone kids.
Perhaps it is easy for me because my kids are usually cooperative and relatively quite obedient.
My shopping issues are usually about making snappy decisions with one eye on the baby (as she twists around in the trolley) and one ear on the other two – not that I need to as the whole store could usually hear them as they browse, discuss and try to convince me to get things.
It’s not always easy but we have one added advantage being in Brunei – less crowd.
