My 8-year-old is aware of Valentine’s Day although I am not sure if she knows what it means and entails.
After all, she has not asked if I was going to get a bouquet of flowers or if her father is going to “take mama out for a candlelit dinner”.
But just in case she does asked, I will respond to her first question that unless I can get some purple or lilac coloured flowers, her father need not bother any Florist express delivery service because I am not a fan of roses and the prices that roses command on Valentine’s Day excite me even less!
Candlelit dinner is a possibility but then again, we are still at the stage where going out at night is hard (for the baby-sitters).
We could actually have our dinner with candles at home (no baby-sitters required). But with the kids getting all excited around us (for the candles, that is) we might as well have our dinner as usual with the lights on.
It will be a just another day for Valentine for us!
